He inquired, clearly concerned. Making her way quickly to the base of the palace, partially ignoring the cheers and questions of her people, Selenia collapsed into the arms of her father, holding back the urge to sob. "Betameche and Selenia at the door!" The gate swung inwards slowly, filling the tunnel with light, but more importantly, revealing the Minimoy village. Amongst the grinding sounds of the opening gate, she heard one of them shout: It was only open for a minute, as the guard's eyes lit up at the sight of them, and the window slid shut. There was the sound of sliding wood as the small window of the gate flew open, filled with the face of a guard. Selenia rolled her eyes as they both approached the gate. Knockingthree times, Selenia heard the scurrying of guard feet behind the gate. "Now go on, beat it!" Beta said jokingly, and the Bee spun round and flew off back the way they had come. The Bee stepped quickly forward, grabbing the honey with its mouthparts and shoving it inside its mouth. A small stick appeared from one of the many holes in the knife, with a small block of sparkling honey. "Thanks for the ride!" He said cheerfully, pressing a button on his knife. He turned back towards the bee, pulling out his knife. Selenia grunted as she stepped off the Bee's back, while Beta slid down its wing. She felt the Bee gradually decelerating, and Beta brought it to land just outside the gate. There seemed to be no visible change for a while, but after a few minutes, she looked past Beta to see the distant glow of the gate. Free air transformed into darkened dirt in an instant, and suddenly they were manoeuvring through the vaguely lit underground passage. She was suddenly forced to grab onto Beta as the Bee made an unexpectedly steep dive for the hole at the last second. Her mind was partly snapped back to reality when the Bee made a sudden jolt, and realised that Beta was steering it towards a large crevice ahead, one that she knew led back to their village. Would there ever be a tenth moon, where she and Arthur could spend a peaceful and romantic night together? She hoped so. She had longed for a chance to see him again. Nature had decided that on that day, these two lovers, who had journeyed across the Seven Kingdoms, and against all odds had come out on top, didn't deserve to see each other. She had awoken on the morning of the tenth moon, and every thought, process, every movement of her body, had been filled with joy. This was supposed to have been perfect, she thought, desperately. All she could think about was her prince. But even as her red hair was pulled this way and that by the ever present rush of air around them, all Selenia heard was a silence composed of both joy and sadness. The combined sound of wind rushing past and the continuous flapping of the bee's wings would have probably been deafening for any normal Minimoy.
